Purplewood
enfilade by Alain Richard, 1960s
37" high, 94" wide, 23" deep
$15,500.00
Alain
Richard (1926) was the student of Rene Gabriel a t the Ecole Nationale Superieur
des Arts Decoratifs and in 1952 founded his own firm with his wife Jacqueline
Iribe which focuses on interior and furniture design. His design speaks to a
clear sobriety in tune with the style of the 1950s. But the rigorous lines and
mass production of his pieces does not translate to a lack of quality. Using
fine woods such as palissander, mahogany, cherrywood and stainless steel supports,
Richard creates pieces that are reflective of and in tune with the best designs
of the Mid 20th Century.
