Jacob-Desmalter
(François-Honoré-Georges), born 1770, deceased 1841. Jacob-Desmalter, son of Georges
Jacob, took over his father's business 1796. The furniture produced by the firm
was mainly made from mahogany in the Empire style. The clients included Pauline
Borghese, Napoleon I's sister, and the Empress Josephine, for whom he supplied
numerous pieces for the imperial residences.
