Of circular form with carved relief of people carousing at a festival. Inscribed: Maxima Tauros Victima Saepe Tuo Pefusi Rumine Sacre Romanos Ad Templa Deum Duxere Triumphos - Vergilio. Provenance: Built for the Palais Miramar in Cannes, France and purchased in the late 19th century by Prince Alexei Lobanov-Rostowsky the Russian Ambassador for Le Chateau des Ollieres, his home in Nice.
